Ride facts

Insanity – the Ride at the Stratosphere is aptly named. The only thing missing from this ride is a straight jacket and a padded room.
The ride, designed specifically for the Stratosphere Tower, consists of an arm that pivots out 68 feet over the edge of the largest freestanding observation tower in the United States. It spins up to 10 passengers at 40 miles per hour, while dangling 900 feet above Las Vegas.
As the ride spins faster and faster, centrifugal force lifts passengers up to a 70-degree angle in their “escape proof” seats, allowing them to literally look down on Sin City – if they can keep their eyes open.
A word to the wise: Don’t eat or drink too much before riding Insanity, especially if you tend to have issues with motion sickness.
Insanity is completely programmable by the ride operator with a variety of riding options. It joins the Big Shot and X Scream, forming the perfect triad of thrill rides atop the tallest building west of the Mississippi at 1,149 feet.
