The fast-paced Manhattan Express roller coaster at New York-New York hotel-casino gives the term "express" a whole new meaning.

The roller coaster is set over a replica of New York Harbor, complete with a tugboat and a 150-foot reproduction of the Statue of Liberty. But as passengers race along the track at breakneck speeds of up to 67 mph, they'll hardly notice the details.

Located on the second floor of the Coney Island Emporium, Manhattan Express was designed by the American division of Japan's Togo Amusements. The nearly three-minute-long ride is full of surprises, packed with twists and turns throughout a variety of hills, loops and corkscrews.

By the second drop, riders will find themselves anxiously gripping their restraints as they fall more than 100 feet at a 50-degree angle. Manhattan Express is the world's first roller coaster to feature a 180-degree heartline twist. But another heart-stopping feature of the C-shaped track is the 540-degree spiral, allowing passengers to experience what negative Gs are truly all about.

With approximately 1.4 million riders each year, the line for Manhattan Express can get a bit long, but it's definitely worth waiting for.
