Movie premiere and music shows: A busy Vegas weekend

Las Vegas is no stranger to jam-packed weekends of entertainment, and this past weekend was certainly no exception, with stars from music and film descending on the city for a weekend packed with excitement.

It began with the official Las Vegas premiere of The Hangover 2 on Saturday afternoon at Planet Hollywood. Stars from the film as well as several Las Vegas celebrities walked the red carpet -- and one even took that a step further. Justin Bartha, who plays Doug, wasn't satisfied with talking about the new flick with the media onslaught. He hopped the carpet rope and went straight through to greet fans along the back wall, taking pictures and high-fiving the crowd.

Las Vegas was the site for another premiere on Saturday: The launch of Glee Live Tour 2011 at Mandalay Bay Events Center. The cast from the hit TV show opened their national tour to a packed house of "Gleeks."

Of course, on the hit program, actors sing the hits from today's top artists as well as from music legends. But on Sunday, the MGM Grand played host to many of the artists themselves as the biggest names in the music industry converged for the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. The show featured performances by Beyonce, Britney Spears, Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, Cee-Lo Green, Nicki Minaj and more. From the red carpet to "Icon" award recipient Neil Diamond performing to close the show, the Billboard Awards featured the best musicians on Earth in the most exciting destination in the world -- Las Vegas!

From arenas to pools: Great places to see a Vegas show

From huge arenas to theaters to pools and even beaches -- Las Vegas has no shortage of venues for its world-class entertainment.

When it comes to concerts, the MGM Grand Garden Arena and Mandalay Bay Events Center are known for big shows, and the legendary Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel has played host to some of the greats in the music industry. The Orleans Arena also provides a great place to catch music, sports and more.

Every seat is a great seat at the intimate Pearl Theater at the Palms  and the Theater for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood. Celine Dion headlines the amazing acts that play the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

There are fantastic outdoor venues, too. You never know who will grace the Fremont Street Experience Stages downtown and you can kick back by the pool and enjoy some great summer concerts at Red Rock Resort's Backyard.

You can put your feet in the sand and enjoy summer concerts at Mandalay Bay Beach and the Hard Rock Beach Club.

No matter where you see a show in Vegas, you're sure to have a great seat for an amazing night of entertainment!
