Vegas Weekend: Setting the Scene -- Jay-Z, Bruno Mars, Will.i.am, Nicki Minaj and the Vegas Spin-Off!

     This weekend is filled with huge names in Las Vegas, and we're extending it even further into Monday night to invite you to see the finals of the Vegas Spin-Off, where seven mixmasters compete live at Marquee nightclub at the Cosmopolitan.

 Jay-Z hosts 1,000 Nights of TAO on Friday.    Kick things off Friday with DJ Scene and Lisa Pittman spinning for Ditch Fridays at the Palms. When the sun sets, Jay-Z hosts 1,000 Nights of Tao Nightclub at the Venetian and Bruno Mars performs live at The Bank inside Bellagio. Nick Cannon spins at Chateau at Paris Las Vegas, Eddie Thoneick and Bassjackers are on the 1s and 2s at Haze inside ARIA and Eva Amurri celebrates her bachelorette party at Lavo inside Palazzo. Skrillex spins at Surrender inside Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, EDX & Blake Jarrell man the decks at Marquee and apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas performs a special DJ set at Gallery at Planet Hollywood.

     Saturday afternoon, catch Will.i.am performing at Encore Beach Club, Paul Van Dyk at MGM Grand's Wet Republic, DJ Ammo and Bare pool at Mirage.

      Nick Cannon is at Gallery, Aly & Fila play at Rain in the Palms, Sidney Samson spins at Surrender and Ronnie from Jersey Shore hosts at LAX inside Luxor.

     On Sunday, kick back by the pool with Markus Schulz (one of the judges for Vegas Spin-Off) along with  Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano at Marquee or head over to Pete's Pool Party with Sidney Samson at Encore Beach Club.

     Then, get ready for the Vegas Spin-Off finals at Marquee on Monday night! It's sure to cap a memorable weekend in Vegas!

Vegas Weekend: Setting the scene -- a jam-packed Labor Day Weekend

     What happens when you take the world's most exciting destination and give people an extra day to enjoy it? In Vegas, it means a four-day spectacle of celebrities, concerts and top music mixers. Fasten your seat belts -- you're in for a wild ride all weekend long.

     Gallery NightclubThe fun begins on Friday with pool parties. Will.i.am performs at Encore Beach Club, Roger Sanchez and EC Twins spin at Cosmopolitan's Marquee, DJ Vice is at TAO Beach atop the Venetian, DJ Pauly D gets some fists pumping at the Palms Pool for Ditch Fridays and Boris, Oscar G & Riva Starr are at the controls at Wet Republic at MGM Grand.

     The stars will be out Friday night, too, with Nicole Scherzinger and Nelly at Chateau Nightclub at Paris Las Vegas, Sammi Sweetheart and Deena Nicole at Gallery Nightclub inside Planet Hollywood and Ice-T and Coco at Vanity at the Hard Rock.

     Tao BeachThe world's top DJs will be in Vegas all weekend, too, starting Friday night with Deadmau5 at The Cheslea inside the Cosmopolitan, Skrillex and Lil Jon at Surrender Nightclub at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, Cedric Gervais spins at TAO, Armin Van Buuren at Marquee, DJ R.O.B. at Artisan, Paul Van Dyk at Haze inside ARIA, 30H!3 at Pure inside Caesars Palace, DJ E-Man spins at 1OAK at The Mirage, DJ Cassidy is at Bellagio's The Bank, Pauly D moves inside to the Palms' Rain and EC Twins perform at Lavo at The Palazzo.

     On Saturday, DJ Reach is at TAO Beach, DJ Erra and DJ Mr. Best are at Mirage's Bare pool, Chris Lake spins at Liquid Pool Lounge at ARIA, Steve Angello takes the controls at Encore Beach Club, Marcus Schulz and EDX spin at Marquee, Tiesto is at Wet Republic and The Pharcyde performs at Palms Pool.

      Things don't slow down on Sunday, as Diddy hosts a party at Palms Pool, Kaskade performs at Encore Beach Club, Fat Boy Slim takes over Marquee, Fortune 421 takes control at Bare, DJ Dan is at Liquid and Robbie Rivera plays at TAO Beach.

     Pool parties, birthday parties and the hottest club scene -- it's no wonder why weekends in Vegas are always something special.

     This weekend is no different, with celebrities and some of the top DJs in the biz spinning all over town. Kick off your weekend at the pool today with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano at Marquee Dayclub at Cosmopolitan, Carnival at TAO Beach at The Venetian or Rev. Run & Ruckus at Ditch Fridays at the Palms pool.

Vanity Nightclub at Hard Rock     Tonight, Run and Ruckus move inside to Rain, Mya performs at Vanity Nightclub inside the Hard Rock. Yelawolf plays at 1OAK at The Mirage, EDX and the EC Twins perform at Marquee, Wolfgang Gartner spins at Surrender inside Encore at Wynn Las Vegas and Smoove celebrates his birthday at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris Las Vegas.

     Saturday, enjoy some sun and sounds by Vegas Spin-Off DJ Markus Schulz, who spins with Funkagenda at Marquee. Snooki hosts at Wet Republic at MGM Grand, Mya is at Revel Saturdays at the Hard Rock's Rehab pool and DJ Erra plays at Bare pool at The Mirage.

     Kevin Dillon is sure to have an entourage for his birthday bash at Haze inside ARIA. Smoove continues his birthday weekend at Gallery Nightclub at Planet Hollywood and Snooki is at Luxor's LAX.

     There are plenty of musical acts and sultans of spin to choose from, too, including Diplo at Marquee, Ray J at Chateau, Savoy at Rain and Mosaic at the Silverton.

Vegas Weekend: Setting the scene -- We've got a 'Situation' all weekend

     If you're a fan of Jersey Shore, this is a great weekend to be in Vegas, where nightlife and celebrities are everywhere you look.

     On Friday night, we've got a "Situation" at Gallery Nightclub at Planet Hollywood as Mike Sorrentino plays host. On Saturday night, expect some major fist-pumping as The Situation is at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris Las Vegas, while just off the Strip over at the Palms, DJ Pauly D has dual engagements -- first at the sexy Midsummer Night's Dream party at Palms Pool, then his regular residency at Rain.

     Kick the weekend off with Ditch Friday at the Palms Pool featuring Big Sean and Jason Smith. 

Jet Nightclub     After dark, you can help Lucas Till of "X Men: First Class" celebrate his 21st birthday at Chateau on Friday night, or party with the Hollyscoop girls for Diana Madison's birthday at The Bank at Bellagio. For some live music, 1OAK at The Mirage features Tyga and Pepper is on stage at the Hard Rock Hotel.

      For more great beats, catch Kill The Noise doing a DJ set at Surrender Nightclub at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas and Big Sean at Rain.

     Saturday, spend a little time in the kitchen -- take part in an afternoon cooking class with Chef Geno at Nove Italiano inside the Palms. You can also enjoy some Liquid refreshment -- the ARIA pool lounge is host to a live DJ set by Scooter & Lavelle.

      There are plenty of ways to spend the evening, including Omarion at LAX inside Luxor, Joe Jonas at ARIA's Haze Nightclub, DJ Nick Cannon at Gallery and Max Vangeli at Surrender.

     Close out the weekend with BT and Dash Berlin live at TAO Beach at the Venetian, Bad Boy Bill poolside for Rehab at the Hard Rock, Calvin Harris at Encore Beach Club and then cap the night with Zen Freeman & Brandon at the Palms' Ghostbar.

Celebrate your independence with a Vegas getaway!

Independence Day -- the ultimate celebration of freedom. No place shouts freedom quite like Las Vegas, so take advantage of the holiday weekend and plan a summer getaway to the Entertainment Capital of the World.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are performing a poolside show at Red Rock Resort on July 1,  Rihanna gets loud on July 2 at Mandalay Bay and it's always a free for all when Ted Nugent rocks at Sunset Station. Also on July 2, watch some fireworks from inside the Octagon at UFC 132 at MGM Grand.

On July 3, the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys perform at Mandalay Bay Events Center, while over at House of Blues, Natasha Bedingfield takes the stage.

If you like comedy, you'll be laughing all weekend with Carlos Mencia at Treasure Island, Joe Rogan at Mandalay Bay, Mike Epps and The Anti-Social Network at the Palms and Bill Maher at the Orleans.

There are also several fireworks displays planned for the Fourth in Vegas, so stick around and enjoy the festivities. Life is Short. Summer is Shorter. Seize the summer this Fourth of July in Vegas!!!

Vegas Weekend: Setting the scene -- Electronic music galore!

As you might expect with the Electronic Daisy Carnival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Vegas this weekend -- top DJs and producers are all the rave. Here's a look at who you can see and where:

Encore Beach ClubThe EDC is an all-night event, but you still need something to do during the day, so check out the official EDC Weekend pool parties with Boyz Noise on Saturday at Aria's Liquid Pool Lounge and Avicii at Marquee at Cosmopolitan on Sunday. And for those who really want to cap off an amazing weekend, hit the official EDC After Party with Laidback Luke at XS at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas on Monday night.

There's also plenty to do in between all around town. Steve Aoki, Sidney Samson, Calvin Harris and Afrojack are part of the DJ Magazine 20-year anniversary weekend parties at Surrender and Encore Beach Club. On Friday night, Samantha Ronson provides the sound at Chateau at Paris Las Vegas, Armand Van Helden is on the turntables at Gallery inside Planet Hollywood, Twista performs at 1OAK at The Mirage and Alexandra Richards spins at The Bank at Bellagio. DJ Chuckie is also celebrating his birthday with a performance at Marquee.

Jay Sean is at Pure inside Caesars Palace Friday for a live performance, and Gavin DeGraw is at Red Rock Resort for an outdoor show. You can also party the night away with Solange Knowles as she celebrates her birthday at Lavo at The Palazzo.

You can also pump your fists all day as DJ Pauly D launches his residency at Ditch Fridays at the Palms pool and later that evening at Rain for Clash Fridays. He'll also be at Moon on Saturday night.

Benny Banassi is the special guest DJ at TAO Beach on Saturday for Lo Bosworth hosting her sister's bachelorette weekend, and over at Bare pool at The Mirage DJ Erra is doing a live set. Martin Solveig is at MGM Grand's Wet Republic and Yolanda Be Cool is at Encore Beach Club.

The celebrities come out on Saturday night as Nicki Minaj heads to the Gallery, Taio Cruz performs at Chateau, Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls fame celebrates her birthday at Tao at the Venetian and Shaq holds his retirement party at Moon.

Seize the summer like never before. The party is on all over Vegas this weekend!

When the sun goes down, the club scene heats up

Nightlife in Las Vegas has never been more exciting! Come down and dance the night away at some of the newest hot spots in Las Vegas.

Check out the Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris Las Vegas. Find your groove on the centralized dance floor featuring vaulted ceilings, ornate chandeliers and an elevated DJ booth or take the glass elevators to Chateau Garden, an outdoor nightlife experience and lavish rooftop garden featuring beautiful greenery and lush cabanas.

From there, visit the multilevel, 60,000-square-foot paradise that is Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan, with its three lavish rooms and various musical experiences.

Another new Las Vegas club experience is Gallery at Planet Hollywood, where vintage gothic design with contemporary touches help every room in the club expose a new "secret." Gorgeous performance dancers styled in voyeuristic fashions perform nightly.

Whichever nightclub you choose to visit, be sure to keep your eyes out for the hottest celebrities. Note: This is the sixth and final in a series of blogs leading up to the Miss USA 2011 competition on June 19 at Planet Hollywood. In this entry, reigning Miss USA Rima Fakih gives us her views on Las Vegas.

Q: What are you most excited about seeing and doing in Las Vegas?
A: I'm mostly excited to go back to Planet Hollywood where my dreams came true. I'm also excited to see all the hot contestants.

Q: Who's your favorite Las Vegas icon?
A: Since this is the fourth consecutive year the pageant is being held in Las Vegas, would that make Miss USA a Vegas icon?

Q: If you had to pick five things to pack in your suitcase for a trip to Vegas, what would they be?
A: Five things I would pack for Vegas: three swimsuits, my iPod and sunglasses.

Q: What is the first thing you want to do when you get off the plane in Vegas?
A: First thing I want to do when I get off the plane in Vegas is run to the nearest slot machine at the airport. I hit $500 one time before I boarded a plane home to Michigan!

Q: Where do you love to shop in Las Vegas?
A: I love to shop at the amazing CityCenter. I also love Caesars Palace because they have Niketown.

Q: What might you wear in Vegas that you wouldn't wear back home?
A: I have a sparkly hot-pink tube top that I only wear in Vegas. It would be way too much anywhere else!

Q: If you had only one night in Vegas, which nightclub would you choose?
A: I haven't really experienced Vegas nightclubs, YET! When I do I would love to go to XS Nightclub at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas and reserve a cabana.

Q: Who would be your dream date(s) for a night out in Vegas?
A: My dream date in Vegas would be Frank Sinatra and I would ask him to sing me my favorite song, "New York, New York." My second choice would be Robert De Niro because one of my favorite movies is "Casino."

Q: What's the best pool in Vegas?
A: I haven't been there yet, but I would love to go to Hard Rock Hotel's pool and hang out in one of their Tahitian-style cabanas.

Q: What's the most unique experience you've had in Las Vegas?
A: Oh this question is easy! The most unique experience I've had in Vegas is the night I won Miss USA 2010!

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Las Vegas?
A: My favorite restaurant is Aureole at Mandalay Bay, which has a four-story wine tower and amazing food by Chef Charlie.

Q: What's the one thing in Las Vegas you can't miss?
A: I would not want to miss a Cirque du Soleil show. It always leaves me breathless!

Q: What are your must-see shows in Vegas?
A: My must-see show is "PEEPSHOW" featuring the beautiful Holly Madison at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Q: What is the best advice you can give to a first-timer in Las Vegas?
A: The best advice I could give a first-timer in Las Vegas would be to BRING sunblock lotion because the sun is shining all day. Also, 5-hour ENERGY shots because you want to stay up all night and enjoy the Vegas Strip.

Q: If you could live at any Las Vegas resort, which one would you choose?
A: If I could choose one resort to live in, it would be the Palms. It is beautiful and exotic!

Vegas Weekend: Setting the scene -- EC Twins, Khloe, Heidi, Nas & more

In Las Vegas, the concert is often just the beginning.

Tonight, after Bruno Mars performs at the Palms, you can join him for the official concert afterparty at Tao Nightclub at the Venetian.

There are a plethora of top DJs, producers and celebrities in town this weekend, too. On Friday night, double your pleasure when EC Twins provide the music at Marquee inside Cosmopolitan, or catch Diplo spinning at Rain inside the Palms for Clash Fridays.

Dragonette will be performing their hits at The Bank at Bellagio, or enjoy an outdoor concert with Steel Pulse at Red Rock Resort poolside at the Sandbar. You can also keep up with one of the Kardashians -- Khloe will be celebrating her birthday at Chateau Nightclub at Paris Las Vegas.

Do more celebrity spotting on Saturday as Heid Montag hosts a party at MGM Grand's ultrapool, Wet Republic, while Taylor Armstrong of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills celebrates her birthday at Liquid Pool Lounge at ARIA Resort.

Saturday night, pro skateboarder Bam Margera hosts a party at Gallery Nightclub inside Planet Hollywood featuring a performance by Chingy. The New Boyz are special guests at Revel Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel Rehab pool, Jeremih will be entertaining the crowd at Haze inside ARIA, Nas hosts the evening at Paris Las Vegas' Chateau, Cosmic Gate performs at Marquee at Cosmopolitan and you can even get some "ice, ice baby" when Vanilla Ice performs live at LAX inside Luxor.

Miss USA 2011: Great Lakes and more

Note: This is the third in a series of blogs leading up to the Miss USA 2011 competition on June 19 at Planet Hollywood. In this entry, we're highlighting contestants from states surrounding the Great Lakes and nearby, and we'll also slide down South a little, too.

 The contestants for Miss USA are used to answering questions, so we threw some Vegas-related Qs their way. Here are some selected answers:

MISS MINNESOTA USA: BRITTANY LEE THELEMANN

Q: Where do you love to shop in Vegas?
A: I love to shop at Caesars Palace. It is so beautiful and cool down there.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Las Vegas?
A: I've had an amazing steak dinner at the Charlie Palmer steak house (at Four Seasons).

Q: What's the best advice you can give to a first-timer in Las Vegas?
A: Try it all! Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to travel up and down the Las Vegas Strip. There is so much to see and do!

MISS IOWA USA: REBECCA GOLDSMITH

Q: What are you most excited about seeing and doing in Las Vegas?
A: I 'm really, really looking forward to taking a dip in the hottest pools Las Vegas has to offer!

Q: If you had to pick five things to pack in your suitcase for a trip to Vegas, what would they be?
A: A swimsuit, a little black dress, a sequin purse, heels and slippers for the day after!

Q: What's the one thing in Las Vegas you can't miss?
A: I just have to see a drive-thru wedding!

MISS ILLINOIS USA: ANGELA SPARROW

Q: What might you wear in Vegas that you wouldn't wear back home?
A: I can't wait to wear all of my short beaded cocktail dresses.

Q: Who would be your dream date for a night out in Vegas?
A: My dream date for a night out in Vegas would be Holly Madison.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Las Vegas?
A: My favorite restaurant so far has been Switch (at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas) because of the atmosphere.

MISS WISCONSIN USA: SHALETTA PORTERFIELD

Q: Who's your favorite Vegas icon?
A: My favorite Vegas icon is Elvis Presley because he "shakes" things up!

Q: If you had only one night in Vegas, which nightclub would you choose?
A: I would go to Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace.

Q: If you could live at any Las Vegas resort, which one would you choose?
A: If I could live in any resort, I would choose the Venetian.

MISS MICHIGAN USA: CHANNING PIERCE

Q: What is the first thing you want to do when you get off the plane in Vegas?
A: Take a lot of pictures!

Q: What are your must-see shows in Vegas?
A: The Beatles' "LOVE" (at The Mirage) and Celine Dion (at Caesars Palace).

Q: If you could live at any Las Vegas resort, which one would you choose?
A: All the resorts offer such amazing amenities and experiences! I guess I would have to choose Planet Hollywood!

MISS OHIO USA: ASHLEY NICOLE CALDWELL

Q: What are you most excited about seeing and doing in Las Vegas?
A: The city lights and competing for Miss USA!

Q: If you had to pick five things to pack in your suitcase for a trip to Vegas, what would they be?
A: Camera, extra-strength Tylenol, a dress to impress, cool shades, swimsuit.

Q: If you had only night in Vegas, which nightclub would you choose?
A: I have been told to check out the clubs at the Palms.

MISS KENTUCKY USA: KIA BEN-ET HAMPTON

Q: Where do you love to shop in Vegas?
A: My favorite place to shop is definitely Town Square Las Vegas and also the Fashion Show Mall.

Q: What is the first thing you want to do when you get off the plane in Vegas?
A: The first thing I want to do is sightsee! I went to Vegas once for five days and it wasn't enough time. I want to re-do everything I did the first time plus more.

Q: Who would be your dream date for a night out in Vegas?
A: My dream date would definitely be with Elton John! I know he is in Las Vegas a lot and he is an icon of mine.

MISS TENNESSEE USA: ASHLEY ELIZABETH DURHAM

Q: Where do you love to shop in Vegas?
A: The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. I enjoy the beautiful Venice street scene design with a canal that runs through the center of the shopping area!

Q: What might you wear in Vegas that you wouldn't wear back home?
A: Anything I may think is a little "too much" anywhere else is probably perfect for Vegas! The more sequins or feathers, the better!

Q: If you could live at any Las Vegas resort, which one would you choose?
A: Wynn Las Vegas. It is considered one of the finest hotels in the world!
