Weekend party scene features a dose of reality

If you're heading to Las Vegas this weekend and looking for a place to spot a few celebrities and have some fun, there's no shortage of nightclub parties (is there ever?), but here are a few you might want to check out:

Reality TV fans should check out Gallery Nightclub inside Planet Hollywood on Friday night for the Real World: Las Vegas Wrap Party. Or head up to Surrender at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas for a live performance by Steve Aoki.

How about spending a night with the Pussycat Dolls? Carmen Electra performs live as part of Saturday's opening-night festivities at the Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon. With elevated platforms and stripper poles, well, this isn't your average saloon, to say the least.

Catch Dancing With the Stars pro and Playboy model Karina Smirnoff on Saturday at TAO Beach during the day, and TAO Nightclub for an evening party. Or head down the Strip to Chateau Nightclub and Gardens at Paris Las Vegas on Saturday night and see Nick Cannon spinning. Also on Saturday, British DJ/producer Mark Ronson is on the turntables at HAZE inside ARIA Resort.

Of course, there's Rehab at Hard Rock on Sunday and plenty of other places to party all weekend long. Life is Short. Summer is Shorter. Make this most of it with an amazing weekend in Vegas!

Vegas Minute: A day at TAO Beach

In this week's Vegas Minute, it's pool season, so soak up some sun at TAO Beach atop the Venetian. Then, get your juices flowing as you soar over the downtown crowd on Fremont Street Flightlinez. Las Vegas also has amazing music all summer long, including Paul McCartney at the MGM Grand on June 10 and Cake at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on June 11. Life is Short. Summer is Shorter. Beach clubs, concerts -- Vegas redefines the pool scene

Encore Beach Club

From party cabanas to concerts to the world's best DJs, Las Vegas has redefined and reinvented the pool experience (again). And, since summer in Vegas starts and ends longer than the rest of the country, you've got that much longer to enjoy the most lavish pools you'll find anywhere.

The newest addition to the ultra-pool experience in Las Vegas is the Boulevard Pool at Cosmopolitan Resort. Overlooking the Strip, the multilevel, open-air environment provides unobstructed sightlines in all directions, upbeat music, intimately spaced lounge chairs and daybeds, and a vibrant social scene with live musical performances to movies playing on the marquee.  For a quieter, more relaxing day, enjoy the Bamboo Pool -- it's a soothing canyon-like environment with spa services, yoga and Pilates sessions.

Celebrity DJs keep the beat going on a daily basis! Encore Beach Club at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas opened for the season on April 16! This 60,000-square-foot paradise includes 26 cabanas outfitted with refrigerators and flat-screen televisions along with the exclusivity and opulence of eight bungalows, all with amazing views of Las Vegas.  Guests at Encore or Wynn can also have the option of enjoy the sophisticated and alluring elegance of the hotel pools nestled deeper in the property far from the commotion of daylife' parties.

Stratosphere Level 8

Other great pool parties can be found at TAO Beach, on the roof of TAO Nightclub at The Venetian, and at the Palms Pool & Bungalows. This year, the Palms Resort hosted MTV's Spring Break -- and even after the cameras leave, guests can still experience the latest and greatest Palms excitement! For a unique pool experience, try the Golden Nugget Downtown, where you can whisk down a three-story waterslide, straight through a 200,000-gallon shark tank!

It's not always about the daytime party though.  Relax in a serene atmosphere by the lake at a hidden lagoon with white sand beaches. The brand-new Ravella at Lake Las Vegas features an outdoor whirlpool and private cabanas with spectacular views of the lake. Book a private patio spa treatment room for the ultimate in lakeside luxury!  The GO pool at Flamingo Las Vegas has acres of hidden paths and lounge areas, where privacy and tranquility await.

Toned, Tanned, and Totally Summer!

April showers bring May flowers; for most of the world that holds true, but in Las Vegas, April sunshine brings May pool parties and outdoor concerts! It's the start of another A-list summer season in Vegas and the ultra-pools are rolling out the red carpet for you!

Aside from the most spectacular pools in the world, Las Vegas hotels also know how to throw a rockin' afternoon party. The Palms Hotel hosts its annual Ditch Fridays Pool Party at their newly renovated pools. With 3 separate pools, 2 waterfalls, 27 cabanas, and lots of eye candy, Ditch Fridays is your excuse to start the weekend early. During most weekends, chart-topping artists perform live and the top DJ's in the country spin music's hottest hits to keep the action going from morning to sunset!

You won't need your passport to get to Wet Republic, but you do need your swimsuit. It's the perfect "daylife" experience at the MGM Grand Hotel, where the ultimate nightlife vibe merges seamlessly with poolside pampering and relaxation. The adults-only playground is a magnet for partygoers, the glitterati and celebrities from around the world. Dance under the sun to the beats of world-renowned DJs or retreat to your own private cabana.

For the 7th straight season, the Hard Rock Hotel unveils the popular Rehab Pool Party. Made even more famous by a reality TV show, the lagoons at the Hard Rock transform daily into a massive outdoor event. This once intimate poolside party has grown into a true destination weekend with revelers in the thousands. Get in line early for Rock Star Lemonades, world famous DJs, and the largest gathering of toned and tanned bodies on the planet.

Tao Beach is The Venetian Resort's best kept secret located behind TAO nightclub. At Sunset Sundays, the party takes on a higher level of outdoor fun with spectacular views of the Las Vegas Strip. Refreshing drinks from the cocktail bars, spectacular food from Riva, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, and all kinds of music from renowned DJs makes pool parties at Tao Beach the ultimate highlife experience.
