Maybe you aren't limber enough to pull off a split or fast enough to compete in a 4-minute mile like our USA Olympic counterparts. But, that doesn't mean you can't participate in some alternative Olympic-style sports, Vegas-style!

The Las Vegas Strip is 4.2 miles long, so get out and walk from the Stratosphere to Mandalay Bay and back for your own version of the 8K dash! (Or, if you are really adventurous, sign up for the upcoming Rock 'n' Roll marathon in December to run a marathon on the Strip at night.)

If you are into cycling, rent a bike and head out to Red Rock National Park for the day to tour the 13-mile long loop once or twice, or grab a canoe for some paddling or swimming at Lake Mead, just a short drive from the Strip.

The biggest names in comedy are taking the stage in Las Vegas this summer, so get ready to laugh like you've never laughed before.

How about a show about ... nothing? That premise made Jerry Seinfeld and his sitcom the top TV show of its era, and now he's bringing that same observational humor to Caesars Palace Aug. 19 - 20.

The "terms of engagement" for a great night of laughter with David Spade are simple - make your plans to see him at The Venetian Aug. 26 - 27. And you know everybody loves Raymond - you'll love his stand-up routine, too, when Ray Romano performs at The Mirage that same weekend.

Tracy Morgan leaves 30 Rock for a show at the Joint at the Hard Rock on Sept.4; Bill Maher brings his politically incorrect humor to The Orleans Sept. 10 - 11; and you can go inside the mind of Carlos Mencia at Treasure Island on Sept. 16.

Get your laugh on all summer in Vegas!

Independence Day -- the ultimate celebration of freedom. No place shouts freedom quite like Las Vegas, so take advantage of the holiday weekend and plan a summer getaway to the Entertainment Capital of the World.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are performing a poolside show at Red Rock Resort on July 1,  Rihanna gets loud on July 2 at Mandalay Bay and it's always a free for all when Ted Nugent rocks at Sunset Station. Also on July 2, watch some fireworks from inside the Octagon at UFC 132 at MGM Grand.

On July 3, the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys perform at Mandalay Bay Events Center, while over at House of Blues, Natasha Bedingfield takes the stage.

If you like comedy, you'll be laughing all weekend with Carlos Mencia at Treasure Island, Joe Rogan at Mandalay Bay, Mike Epps and The Anti-Social Network at the Palms and Bill Maher at the Orleans.

There's no better was to seize the summer than with an extended holiday weekend of thrills in Las Vegas! Life is Short, Summer is Shorter. It will be over before you know it, so kick off your summer season on Memorial Day Weekend with a lineup of pool parties, nightclub events and entertainment that you won't find anywhere else on the globe.

Nothing says summer like a day out by the pool, and Las Vegas combines the most luxurious pools with the top DJs for unforgettable parties. Afrojack, Kaskade and Deadmau5 take over Encore Beach Club this weekend, LMFAO and Erick Morillo are spinning at the Venetian's Tao Beach, and Cathy and David Guetta are at Wet Republic at MGM Grand on Monday.

The nightclubs will be sizzling, too, with performances by Flo Rida at Haze inside ARIA, Macy Gray doing a DJ set at Blush Boutique Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas, and Nelly and 30 Seconds to Mars are at Chateau at Paris Las Vegas.

If you like to laugh, Las Vegas is the place this weekend. The legend himself, Bill Cosby brings his standup to Treasure Island, talk show star Chelsea Handler performs at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Daniel Tosh brings the laughs to Mandalay Bay, Ron White brings his blue-collar humor to The Mirage and comic/impression veteran Rich Little begins an engagement at the Riviera.

There are plenty of other great musical acts in town this weekend, too, including Barenaked Ladies at Red Rock Resort, the Go-Gos, The Script and My Chemical Romance at Mandalay Bay,  and Nina Blackwood's Absolutely '80s summer long event kicks off at the Fremont Street Experience.  And if you're an MMA fan, don't miss UFC 130 at MGM Grand!
