Comedian Amy Schumer has had the case of funnies since her youth.
The born-and-raised New Yorker was voted both "Class Clown" and "Teacher's Worst Nightmare" by her high school class in 1999. After high school, she attended Towson University in Maryland and graduated in 2003 with a degree in theater. After college, she returned to New York and studied at the William Esper Studio School of Performing Arts while working as a bartender and waitress.
In the early part of her comic career, she starred in the off-Broadway black comedy, "Keeping Abreast." Schumer started doing stand-up in 2004. A couple of years later, she placed fourth on the fifth season of NBC's "Last Comic Standing" and second on Comedy Central's "Reality Bites Back" in 2008.
The comedian made appearances on the "Howard Stern Show," "Red Eye with Greg Gutfield," "30 Rock," "Live at Gotham," "Delocated" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." She also appeared in "The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen" and "The Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne Barr."
Schumer's film credits include "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World" starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley and "Price Check" with Parker Posey.
"Variety" magazine featured Schumer as one of its "Top Ten Comics to Watch." Her one-hour special, "Amy Schumer: Mostly Sex Stuff," aired on Comedy Central as one of the highest-rated and most-watched stand-up specials in 2012. She released her first album, "Cutting," in 2011.
Her new series, "Inside Amy Schumer" debuts April 30, 2013 on Comedy Central.
