Billy Idol

English rocker Billy Idol started his career with groups including Chelsea and Generation X, but found success when he embarked on a solo career in 1981.

Idol released the EP "Don't Stop," which included a successful cover of Tommy James and The Shondells' "Mony Mony."

His debut full-length solo album "Billy Idol" was released in 1982 and featured a string of hits like "White Wedding” and “Dancing with Myself."

His second album, "Rebel Yell," released in 1983 was his biggest success with hits like "Eyes Without a Face," "Flesh for Fantasy" and the title track.

Idol released "Whiplash Smile" in 1986 and the album featured songs like "To Be a Lover" and "Sweet Sixteen."

Idol was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in 1990, the same year his album "Charmed Life" was released. The album spawned the hit "Cradle of Love." In the video he was shot from the waist up because he was unable to walk.

Idol released the album "Cyberpunk" in 1993 and "Greatest Hits" in 2001. "Devil's Playground," which was released in 2005, was Idol's first new album in nearly 12 years. Another hits album, "The Very Best of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself" appeared in 2008.
