Guitarist, singer and songwriter Bonnie Raitt brings her signature bluesy rock sound to Las Vegas.
For more than four decades, Raitt has been releasing music, picking up many awards, accolades and honors along the way.
Raitt, the daughter of Broadway star John Raitt, began playing guitar at an early age. During college she met blues promoter Dick Waterman and became friends with him, getting involved in the blues music community. Raitt began performing in clubs in the Boston area. One night while singing in New York, a reporter from “Newsweek” saw her and spread the word about her performance. Record company scouts began to take notice and she was signed to Warner Brothers for her debut album in 1971.
1977's “Sweet Forgiveness” album gave Raitt her first commercial breakthrough when it yielded a hit single in her cover of "Runaway."
After nearly 20 years working in the music business, Raitt achieved her biggest commercial success with her tenth album, “Nick of Time.” Released in the spring of 1989, “Nick of Time” went to the top of the U.S. charts and spawned hit singles like “Have a Heart” and “Thing Called Love.” The album has been voted number 230 in the “Rolling Stone” magazine list of 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.
Raitt followed up this success with three Grammy Awards for her 1991 album, “Luck of the Draw,” which has sold nearly 8 million copies in the United States. The album featured the hit songs “Something to Talk About” and “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”
In March 2000, Raitt was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“Silver Lining” was released in 2002 while “Souls Alike” was released in September 2005.
The release of her current and nineteenth album, “Slipstream,” marks her return to studio recording after seven years.
