Actor Craig Ferguson has one of the most interesting résumés in the comedy circuit: punk rock drummer, bartender, bouncer, construction worker, and department store executive.
Well, that last one was actually a role Ferguson played on "The Drew Carey Show" — the pompous, over-the-top Nigel Wick. Mr. Wick was actor Ferguson's American breakout opportunity.
Ferguson hails from Glasgow, Scotland. His early acting and comedy career saw him appear at the world-famous Edinburgh Festival and on the TV cult favorite "Red Dwarf."
From there, he spent 1996 to 2003 on "The Drew Carey Show" and became one of the ensemble cast's most popular members.
In 2005 Ferguson got his big break when he replaced Craig Kilborn on the hip hit "The Late Late Show."
"The Late Late Show" features Ferguson in a mode unlike most other talk show hosts. He sings, he plays characters and does impressions.
Ferguson is known for a candid, self-deprecating style of humor with a definite twist of irony and a wee bit of cynicism and absurdity.
He's also a celebrated novelist, with his 2006 "Between the Bridge and the River" being critically praised. He signed a deal to publish his memoirs and the audio book version went on to be nominated for a Best Spoken Word Album Grammy.
Ferguson brings all his diverse background and unique viewpoints to his wickedly funny stand-up comedy routine.
