Fans of Criss Angel and Cirque du Soleil get to see a unique combination of the two forces in Believe. The recently revamped show features more of Angel's magic and well-known stage presence presented with the artistic flair that has become Cirque du Soleil's signature.
The illusions have a loosely connected narrative, but the main focus of every act is Angel's magic. He brings the illusions he made famous on "Mindfreak" to the stage for audiences to experience in a larger-than-life setting.
The set and illusions are stylized with a gothic feel much like an old-fashioned circus. Believe's atmosphere is dark and mysterious just like the magician. Throughout the show Angel speaks to the audience, delighting them with his dark sense of humor. His assistants, four ushers, also keep things interesting.
Now a household name, Angel was first introduced to magic at the age of seven when his aunt taught him a card trick. By the time he graduated from high school Angel had turned his interests from attending college to becoming a professional magician.
Angel gained a huge following as the star and creator of the A&E network show "Criss Angel MindFreak." His countless devoted fans, branded The Loyal, have helped solidify the show as an A&E staple with millions of weekly viewers in the United States and more than 65 countries worldwide.
Along with being a magician, Angel is also an accomplished musician and author. He has produced and performed on five self-titled CDs. His book "Criss Angel Mindfreak: Secret Revelations" was a "Los Angeles Times" bestseller and is currently in its third printing.
Angel's contemporary portrayal of magic has made him one of the most popular magicians in the industry today. His show at the Luxor lets audiences experience live what the magician does best: shock, mystify and amaze.
