Dana Carvey

Master impressionist and Emmy award winner Dana Carvey continues to captivate audiences with his zany humor.

Carvey, who graduated from San Francisco University with a degree in communication arts, moved to Los Angeles afterward to pursue his career in show business. He became a member of the "Saturday Night Live" cast in the 1986 - 1987 season and created a number of memorable characters in his seven years there, including Church Lady and Garth Algar. He was also known for his hilarious impersonations of Mike Tyson, John Travolta, Al Pacino and former President George H.W. Bush.

His character, Garth, moved into the movies in 1992 in "Wayne's World," which was followed up by the sequel, "Wayne's World 2," the next year. Carvey's other films include "The Road to Wellville," "Opportunity Knocks," "Clean Slate" and "The Master of Disguise."

In 1996, he co-wrote and hosted "The Dana Carvey Show," which lasted eight episodes. In 2008, Carvey made an appearance at the MTV Movie Awards, reprising his Garth character with host Mike Myers for a "Wayne's World" sketch. Two years later, Carvey appeared in the Funny or Die comedy sketch, "Presidential Reunion," playing the role of George H.W. Bush.

A six-time Emmy nominee, Carvey won the award in 1993 for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program. In 1990 and 1991 he was also honored with the American Comedy Award as Television's Funniest Supporting Male. He is number 90 on Comedy Central's list of "100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time."

Since he left "SNL," Carvey has returned to host four times, most recently in 2011.

These days he often stops by the late-night TV talk show circuit -- such as "Conan" -- to joke about politics and pop culture. Living in Southern California with his wife and two children, Carvey is often booked to perform on Las Vegas' stages where audiences get to enjoy his comedic talents.
