Def Leppard was one of the definitive hard rock bands of the '80s, selling more than 45 million albums over their career. Now fans in Vegas can hear the group rock out with all their greatest hit songs as part of their nine-show residency, Viva Hysteria, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Along with their most popular songs, the group will also perform their iconic album "Hysteria" from beginning to end. This will mark the first time the group has ever performed an entire album live.
The group first rose to fame in the United States in 1981 with the release of their platinum-selling album "High N' Dry." Part of the album's success came from MTV's support of the song "Bringin' on the Heartbreak." The music video helped the band gain a new following of music lovers across the country.
"Pyromania" followed in 1983, spawning the hit songs "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages." The album went on to sell 10 million copies.
In 1987, Def Leppard released the album "Hysteria," which turned out to be one of their biggest hits, producing six Top 20 songs such as "Love Bites," "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Hysteria," "Armageddon It" and "Rocket."
The band was fairly quiet during the '90s, releasing "Adrenalize" in 1992. The album featured one sizable hit with "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad."
2002's "X," debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart selling more than 71,000 units in the first week. Over the years the group has continued to tour and release music. The summer of 2012 saw the release of newly recorded versions of "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and "Rock of Ages."The arena rock gods show no signs of slowing down into the new year. Fans won't want to miss hearing Viva Hysteria during the group's first residency in Vegas.
