Actor and comedian Darryl Lynn "D.L." Hughley has been a fixture of top-tier comedy for more than two decades and is one of the most recognizable faces on the stand-up circuit today.
Famous for his politically savvy satire, he has entertained millions over the course of his decorated career, with performances on daytime, prime time and late-night TV, on the radio and in movies. He has been the host of CNN's "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News" and a correspondent for "The Jay Leno Show" on NBC.
Most recently, Hughley rocked the New York airwaves as the host of a morning radio show. He is also a weekly contributor to the nationally syndicated "Tom Joyner Morning Show."
Hughley is a veteran TV star, with appearances as far-ranging as "Real Time with Bill Maher," "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," and "Dancing with the Stars" to his credit. He produced and directed the ABC hit "The Hughleys" and hosted his own talk show on Comedy Central called "Weekends at the D.L."
He has headlined several comedy specials including "D.L. Hughley: Going Home," "D.L. Hughley Live," "Shocked and Appalled" and most recently "Unapologetic."
Hughley thinks of himself most of all as a stand-up comedian. His fifth stand-up special, "Reset," was broadcast on Showtime in 2012. His first book, "I Want You to Shut the F#ck Up," also hit stores last summer.
