HAERTS is a New York-based band whose members hail from Germany, England and the United States. The long-distance collaborative project came into formation when childhood friends Nini Fabi and Ben Gebert started working on music together in a small apartment in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood. Shortly thereafter, the two musicians picked up additional collaborators Garrett Ienner, Derek McWilliams and Jonathan Schmidt. Working internationally, the group sent files back and forth, toiling on their tracks and eventually sculpting an indie electro sound brightened by Fabi's Stevie Nicks-inspired vocals. The band's first single, "Wings," produced in collaboration with St. Lucia's Jean-Philip Grobler, was released online in 2012 to great response from fans. A year, later the band's Hemiplegia EP was released on Columbia Records and work was underway for a full-length album.
