Jeff Dunham has his hands full. The comedian and ventriloquist is known around the world for his troupe of zany puppets who make audiences laugh with their uninhibited comments. His new tour features all of his famed sidekicks including Walter the Grumpy Retiree, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, the beer-fueled redneck Bubba J, the manic purple creature Peanut, the spicy pepper from south of the border José Jalapeño, and Peanut’s own ventriloquist dummy Little Jeff, a mini-version of the ringmaster himself. Their diverse personalities make for a robust night of comedy.
Last year was busy for the award-winning comedian. Dunham finished filming his one-hour comedy special for Comedy Central, "Minding the Monsters." The special takes audiences to a haunted house where Dunham and his puppets take on a new spooky persona. Walter transforms into something grumpier than he already is, Bubba J rises from the dead, Peanut’s cracks into his alter ego, The Purple Avenger of the Night, and his spicy sidekick, and witness Achmed show what it means to be literally dressed to kill.
"Minding the Monsters" is Dunham's fifth in a strong of hit specials for Comedy Central. His fourth Comedy Central TV special, "Controlled Chaos," premiered in September 2011 to 8.3 million viewers, making it the most-viewed cable show that night. The global TV event enjoyed a never-before simultaneous same day worldwide debut in a dozen countries. He continued to break records at the end of 2011 when the Biography Channel's premiere of "Jeff Dunham; Birth of a Dummy" became the network’s number one broadcast of all time.
Dunham was voted Funniest Male Stand-up Comic at the American Comedy Awards, and he was voted No. 1 in Comedy Central’s Stand-up Showdown. The "New York Times Magazine" declared Jeff Dunham “the most successful comedian working in America.” Dunham was also named Pollstar’s No. 1 Comedy Tour in North America for three years running as well as their Top Worldwide Tour for the second year in a row.
In addition, Dunham’s undeniable talent placed him on "Forbes" magazine’s Celebrity 100 roster of most powerful entertainers for the past two years. His book "All By My Selves: Walter, Peanut, Achmed, And Me" debuted in 2010 and climbed to the New York Times Best Seller list for three weeks earning a five-star reader rating on Amazon.com.
Last year Dunham went on his fourth trip to Europe where he performed in the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany. He also completed a trip to South Africa where he performed to sold-out crowds in the nation's biggest venues. Now Dunham is bringing "Disorderly Conduct" to the stage in Vegas.
