Comedian Jo Koy is no stranger to Vegas. He started his career by performing stand-up comedy in a local Vegas comedy club in 1994. He soon landed a spot as a regular performer at the former "Catch a Rising Star" comedy club at MGM Grand.
Next for Koy was the now-closed Huntridge Theater, also in Vegas. Koy rented it out for a show and went to work as a self-promoter in order to sell his tickets. He was spotted by a talent coordinator from Los Angeles, and soon Koy had his first television appearance on BET's "Comic View." Koy was enrolled in the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and later dropped out to pursue his comedy career.
Koy's presence in the stand-up comedy circuit continued to grow, landing him spots on tour at colleges and clubs across the country and internationally. Koy has been featured as a special guest on various television shows including "Chelsea Lately" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." He has also starred in other TV specials including "Jamie Foxx Presents: Laffapalooza."
Koy's lively stage persona and observational humor based on life and fatherhood are a big hit with fans of all ages. Many of his jokes are inspired by his Filipino and Caucasian heritage. Prepare for nonstop laughs when Koy gets onstage.
