Joe Bonamassa doesn't just play guitar -- he's a world-renowned guitar hero who started playing when he was 4. A child prodigy, Bonamassa was able to play complex tunes by Jimi Hendrix when he was just 7 and at the age of 12, his talent was revealed to the world when he opened for blues legend B.B. King.
Bonamassa's first group was Bloodline, which he formed in 1994 with the sons of several famous musicians, including Berry Oakley Jr. (son of Berry Oakley from the Allman Brothers), Erin Davis (son of Miles Davis) and Waylon Krieger (son of Robby Krieger from the Doors). The group released one self-titled album.
In 2000 Bonamassa made his debut as a solo artist with the release of his Top 10 blues album "A New Day Yesterday." Since then, Bonamassa has won countless awards. In 2009 he was the recipient of the "Classic Rock Magazine" Breakthrough Artist of the Year award. His upcoming show in Vegas at the Palms is in support of his newest album, "Different Shades of Blue," released in September 2014 and features all original tracks with an edgier sound than he has ever explored before.
Bonamassa's music is a mix of several different genres but focuses mainly on blues rock. Aside from his work as a solo artist he's also well known for his multiple side projects, including Black Country Communion (BCC). He formed the hard rock band with Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner) and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Billy Idol). The group released two albums, 2010's self-titled debut and 2011's sophomore album "2." They also released a live two-disc DVD "Live Over Europe," all during the span of 12 months. The group was named Best New Band of the Last 10 Years by VH1 Classic’s "That Metal Show."
Bonamassa continues to tour and is widely praised for his live performances. The epic musician is sure to hit a high note with fans in Vegas.
