Heavy metal pioneers Megadeth and Motörhead are set to co-headline at the Palms.
Even though the lineup for Megadeth has changed many times over the years, the group has remained one of the leaders in the metal music genre.
Megadeth was founded in San Francisco by guitarist and lead singer Dave Mustaine after he left another metal group, Metallica, in 1983.
Megadeth's first release was the album "Killing Is My Business ... And Business Is Good!" Soon after their debut album, Capitol Records signed the band. "Peace Sells ... But Who's Buying?" was their first album on that record label.
"Rust in Peace" was released in the early '90s to widespread critical acclaim. "Countdown to Extinction," the band's next album, included the U.K. Top 20 hit singles, "Skin O' My Teeth" and "Symphony of Destruction."
Megadeth's sixth album, "Youthanasia," featured the U.K. hit single "Train of Consequences."
In 2000, the band worked on its 10th record and released "Capitol Punishment: The Megadeth Years." "The System Has Failed" followed in 2004.
Megadeth most recently released "Super Charger."
In 1975, Motörhead embarked on a journey that would forever change rock music. With Lemmy Kilmister as the band's frontman, the band continues to churn out albums that push metal's limits.
The band's albums include "Bomber," "Ace of Spades," "Iron Fist," "Another Perfect Day," "Orgasmatron," "1916," "Kiss of Death," "Motorizer," "The World Is Yours" and "Aftershock."
The band has been recognized for its influence on the hard rock scene with a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for "Whiplash" and the Metal Hammer Golden God Award.
Motörhead's lineup includes Kilmister, guitarist Phil "Wizzo" Campbell and drummer Mickey Dee.
