When Joy Division disbanded in May 1980, three of the band's remaining members, Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris continued under the name New Order. Sumner took over vocal duties and the trio embarked on a low-key tour of the U.S., intent on continuing as an entity independent of the massive reputation Joy Division had achieved shortly before their demise. Later that same year they recruited Morris's girlfriend, Gillian Gilbert and wrote and rehearsed their debut album, "Movement," which was released the following year. New Order went on to become one of the most influential and acclaimed bands of the 1980's. Since then, the group has released a multitude of albums, including 2013's Lost Sirens.
