Robert Cray is bringing his blues sound to Las Vegas to perform hit songs such as "Smoking Gun" and "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" at The Orleans Hotel and Casino.
American blues guitarist and singer Robert Cray started playing guitar in his early teens. After seeing his heroes Albert Collins, Muddy Waters and Freddie King in concert, Cray became inspired to form his own band. The current band lineup includes Cray (guitar/singer), Les Falconer (drums), Dover Weinberg (keyboards) and Richard Cousins (bass guitar).
In the late 1970s, he formed the Robert Cray Band in Eugene, Oregon. Cray started to build a reputation as a live artist. The album's "Bad Influence" and "False Accusations" gained success in both the U.S. and Europe. The single "Smokin' Gun" gave Cray and the band more popularity.
Cray and the band continue to record and tour releasing a number of albums including "Some Rainy Morning," "Strong Persuader," "Sweet Potato Pie," "Live from Across the Pond," and "Nothin But Love." Additionally, Cray supported longtime friend Eric Clapton on his 2006 - 2007 tour. To date, the Robert Cray Band has recorded 20 studio albums starting in the early '80s. "In My Soul" was released in 2014.
Cray was inducted into Blues Hall of Fame in 2011, and he and his band have been nominated for 15 Grammy Awards and have won five.
