Starting March 31 downtown Las Vegas will be home to The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. This sexy production show at the Plaza is based on the true story of the legendary Texas brothel, the Chicken Ranch. Audiences take a trip through history told through singing, dancing and acting by some of the sexiest female performers in Vegas.
The risque musical and full-scale production show tells the story of how a town's sheriff and regular customer of the brothel fights to keep the whorehouse open while a do-gooder television commentator advocates having it shut down. The show has catchy tunes, sassy characters and of course, plenty of beautiful women.
The original Broadway production of the show debuted in 1978 and was based on the book by Larry L. King and Peter Masterson, with music and lyrics by Carol Hall. The show was directed by Peter Masterson and Tommy Tune and was nominated for seven Tony Awards. It won two. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas was adapted into a movie in 1982 starring Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton.
