Popular during the 1970's, The Spinners are a Detroit soul vocal group named after a popular style of auto hubcap. After minimal success in the 60's, the group switched record labels and released a string of recordings that reached the top 10 on Billboard charts. "I'll Be Around" was their first top ten hit, which was actually the B-side of their first Altantic album. Their self-titled album in 1972 created 5 top 100 singles and 2 top 10 hits.
