Las Vegas
When Vegas goes country, things get rowdy. Aside from fantastic shows and fan events surrounding the Academy of Country Music Awards, April 7, there are dozens of country events happening across town. Again this year, downtown's Fremont Street Experience kicks it country-style, April 4-6, with free concerts all weekend long!
Year-round, you'll find country adventure around every corner. Las Vegas is home to several down-home bars, where the standard dress code includes jeans, boots, hats ... and a personalized belt buckle. Order up some whiskey and scoot your boots around the dance floor at Coyote Ugly at New York-New York Hotel & Casino. Take some western dance classes at Revolver Bar & Saloon at Santa Fe Station. Then throw on your sexiest western wear and head over to Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que at Treasure Island for a thigh-slappin' good time with bikini bull riding and some of the sexiest cowgirls this side of Texas. Of course, there's the famous Stoney's Rockin' Country at Town Square, where you can polish up your line dancin' moves, too.
Hopefully, you'll work up an appetite for some of the best steak in the country. Try The Flame Steakhouse at El Cortez and experience vintage downtown Vegas. Or stick to the Strip and belly up to the bar at the Old Homestead Steakhouse at Caesars Palace.
Quick bites and beer more your thing? Grab a burger at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill, named after the country singer's hit single. This joint at Harrah's features more than 100 pieces of the singer's memorabilia, including signed guitars, platinum records and clothing worn by the man himself. Or head over to PBR Rock Bar & Grill in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood for some traditional American comfort food.
Mandalay Bay plays home to PBR (Professional Bull Riders), May 10, where the bucking and the kicking and the thrills will leave you wanting so much more. And once the bulls leave, the hits keep coming. Shania Twain dominates The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. And The Venetian welcomes country's power-couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw's show, Soul2Soul.
Grab your finest Stetson and get to Las Vegas.
