Las Vegas
Poor thing, you've been down in the doldrums. Well, Vegas is here to turn that frown upside down. There's no better way to feel better than to see how bad someone else has it. B.B. King's Blues Club at The Mirage is just the ticket. If the soulful blues don't change your outlook, their fried pickles just might.
See, that's the spirit. Now you're ready to live, love and laugh again. Sit down for some stand-up at Empire Comedy Club at Paris Las Vegas. You will laugh until your face hurts. For more comedy genius, check out Kevin Burke: Mind-Blowing Comedy at the D Downtown.
It's still hurting - isn't it? Don't fret it - wet it, at Aquae Sulis at the JW Marriott Las Vegas, where they combine the ancient healing powers of water with modern therapeutic techniques. Or slide over to the Costa del Sur Spa at South Point where they'll fix you right up with their Eminence Divine Chocolate and Champagne Facial. Your face will be hydrated, radiant and quite lickable.
Speaking of licking, you're probably famished by now. No one can resist the old-fashioned drugstore sundaes at Serendipity 3, located on one of the busiest corners of the Strip in front of Caesars Palace. If drinkable sweets are the name of your game, try their legendary Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, made from 20 different kinds of chocolate - it's so cool, it has its own cult following.
You won't find that in a vending machine. But you will find some rather interesting souvenirs. At The Cosmopolitan, old cigarette vending machines have been turned into Art-O-Mats where you can buy a piece of original art for five bucks. Art not your thing? The newest vending machines at the Golden Nugget are pure gold. Literally - the "Gold to Go" machines sell gold coins and 24-karat bars weighing from 1 gram to 1 ounce. Prices are automatically adjusted every 10 minutes to reflect market value. Perfect for a city that's like a giant vending machine of good times.
