Gordon Biersch

The Vegas branch of this microbrewery chain (how micro can it be, if you can buy Gordon Biersch products in stores?) is all about meat -- not the kind that goes on top of salads, but meat of the meat market variety. There's so much dentist-meets-lawyer going on that the mere act of approaching the bar to get a beer is a task no less daunting than navigating the Straits of Magellan. If you get out of here without getting a phone number, it's a miracle.

Let me guess: I just sold you on the place. Oh well, it's your stabilized emotional state to lose. Just bear in mind that on Friday and Saturday nights, Gordon Biersch loads up tighter that a tin of kippers. Their beer is all right, but I can't detect much difference between the fresh-poured stuff and the bottled GB beer available at the mini-market across the street, and GB's bar gets so busy that you could probably pick up a few bottles in the time it takes the bartender to see you over behind that wall of blondes. Guess that's why I'm a bourbon man.
