With other hotels transforming their entire property into a pirate’s paradise or a palace fit for a roman emperor, it might
be hard to imagine an entire hotel devoted to that brightly-colored bird, the flamingo.
But it's the Flamingo Hotel that helped set – and continually raise - the standard for Las Vegas resorts when it opened in
its original form in 1946.
Part brainchild of Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel, the original Flamingo’s opening heralded the arrival of Vegas as we would grow
to know and love it. And the Flamingo Las Vegas keeps that style alive today with enough attractions to tickle even the pinkest
of flamingoes.
Hungry? How does a cheeseburger in paradise sound? Head over to Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville for just that. Or make a stop at the Paradise Garden Buffet for a different slice of paradise as live flamingoes parade around just outside the restaurant’s windows. If a more classic
dinner sounds appetizing, check out Steakhouse46, the Flamingo’s take on the traditional steakhouse.
In addition to the Chilean flamingoes visible from the buffet, visitors can also get a look at some swans, ducks, turtles
and koi in the Flamingo’s wildlife habitat.
But the animals aren’t the only entertainment at the Flamingo - plenty of humans worth checking out call the resort their
home, too. The X Burlesque show offers some adult fun, in addition to the numerous gaming options, including table games, slot machines and a race and sports book.
And if the tropical decor of the Flamingo makes you want to swim in your own blue lagoon, head over to one of the hotel’s
four pools, featuring waterfalls and seasonal water slides.
With so much to offer, it’s no wonder the Flamingo Hotel, like its avian namesake, stands proud and pink and hard to miss.

"The pool area achieves its tropical oasis design and feel for the customer. While its not the biggest hotel on the strip,
it has plenty of options and amenities built into it which makes it very convenient and the size makes it easy to get around
(which I would think is extremely important to people with families). The wildlife outside (was very nice and the person who
feeds and cares for them was very pleasant). Restaurant options we very good and varied. Overall, a very good hotel choice
for the price and an excellent location."

Most Helpful Unfavorable Review
"I would not recommend it to anyone as we are disappointed in the state of the rooms. We have always tried to stay at the
Flamingo every time we come to Vegas. We go at least twice a year if not more times. Three years ago, I took my daughter to
Vegas to celebrate her 21st birthday and we stayed at the Flamingo. The room was worse than these but we were told that all
of the rooms were being redone. I am very disappointed."
