Hawaiian Marketplace Review
As much as we wish we can enjoy two places at once, it's not physically possible. But the Hawaiian Marketplace, located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, comes close to uniting the island spirit with the excitement of Sin City.
Adorned with Hawaiian statues, towering palm trees, misters and a huge awning to block the summer heat, the 80,000-square foot shopping plaza really does have everything under the sun. The area is comprised of several kiosks in the center, with stores along the side. If you need something to wear by the pool or during the day, there's a sarong booth with every color imaginable. Plus, you'll get to learn how to wear it in multiple ways. For those who are looking for evening attire, XTC Boutique sells flashy club attire and dress shirts for men. And of course, no Vegas trip is complete without the sarcastic and goofy T-shirts, located in one of the many kiosks. At another booth, pick up a cowboy hat or fedora to add flair to any outfit.
Feeling a little daring but don't want to make a permanent commitment? There's a henna tattoo station offering hundreds of designs. Other cosmetic booths include a teeth whitening station and a nail art kiosk.
If you want to stock up on trip essentials, the souvenir shop sells bottled water (two for $1), sunscreen, toiletries and snacks. Speaking of food, come here an appetite: Hawaiian Marketplace offers a unique selection of fare, including Filipino fast food at Kapit Bahay, Indian cuisine at Tamba and All-American food at Zingers. Zingers features reasonable prices (nothing is more than $10), as well as an all-day breakfast menu. If you're a fan of soul food, Cat Fish Alley got you covered. Enjoy all your favorite sides like macaroni and cheese, sweet potato pie and deep-fried everything.
There are also plenty of tables in the middle of the marketplace. Throughout the day, watch a live outdoor performance on the center stage. If you've been walking all day, there's a reflexology center just steps away.
There's a small parking lot next door to the shopping center, as well as a garage available at the Harley Davidson Cafe. However, there's a fee and both spots only accept cash. Park at Planet Hollywood and take the pedestrian bridge toward Harley Davidson Cafe. The Hawaiian Markeplace is next door. Walk time is about 10 minutes. Make sure you're equipped with water, or save your stroll for the morning or evening.
