Staff Report
Milton Berle once said that laughter is an instant vacation. So for those needing to escape, look no further than the Improv at Harrah's, where you are guaranteed a temporary getaway.
Budd Friedman founded the Improv in New York City in 1963, and it was only a matter of time before the club became one of the top showcases for up-and-coming comedic talent. Soon after, franchises of the famed comedy club started budding up all over the country, boasting a roster of superstars such as Jerry Seinfeld and Drew Carey. The Improv at Harrah's, one of more than a dozen franchises of the club, opened in Las Vegas in 1995, and has been keeping audiences smiling ever since. With a lineup of three comedians rotating weekly, the Improv brings top-name talent to the intimate theater.
With a brick backdrop revealing handwritten jokes on the walls, the showroom bears photos of top comedians who have made it to stardom by way of the Improv, dubbed "America's Original Comedy Showcase," including Kevin Nealon and Richard Lewis. And there's no doubt that the comedians featured on the Las Vegas stage are at the top of their game.
Mark Twain said that the human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter. At the Improv at Harrah's, there's no shortage of laughter, as comedians bring out their best arsenal of jokes all in the name of comedy.
