No one in the room is safe from Vinnie Favorito's sharp tongue and quick wit.
Favorito is known for his prowess at roasting celebrities. In his Las Vegas show, he uses those skills to poke fun at audience members. After about 10 minutes of a traditional stand-up routine, Favorito switches gears and lets the audience become the show, asking random people where they're from and what they do. The jokes just flow from there.
The night I attended, one audience member was a cable TV installer by profession, which prompted Favorito to wonder why in order to turn cable on, customers have to wait all day and pay a fee, but when the cable company wants to turn off your cable, all it takes is a push of a button from the office.
Upon hearing another audience member was from Oklahoma, Favorito mused, "You can watch your dog run away for days there. There is nothing there."
Favorito has an uncanny ability to find something funny in just about anything the audience members tell him, making jokes out of their jobs, ethnic backgrounds or their hometowns.
Favorito has almost as much fun as the crowd -- since the audience is always new, no two shows are ever alike and there's always fresh material.
For some bonus laughs, get there about 20 minutes early - the pre-show consists of video of some of Favorito's infamous celebrity roasts.
