Grand Canyon Toroweap

Grand Canyon Toroweap

This tour utilizes a Tour Trekker off-road vehicle and heads to the remote Toroweap valley at the Grand Canyon via Mesquite, the Virgin River Gorge and St. George.

Locations: Grand Canyon, Toroweap

Prices From: $250.00

Description

Step into the quietness of Toroweap at the Grand Canyon, considered to be one of the most remote places in the country.

See panoramic views only few have seen. Enjoy the beauty of Mesquite, Nev., Virgin River Gorge and the awe-inspiring sights of St. George, Utah. Travel through the Arizona Strip, where you'll witness unscathed country roads, as well as sweeping prairie plains, mountain views and working ranches.

The tour also includes magnificent views at the narrowest, deepest part of the inner canyon, which lies at an astounding 3,000 feet vertically above the Colorado River. Discover the sights and sounds of Lava Falls Rapids, the untamed and biggest part of the river. Make sure to bring a camera -- you'll get a chance to capture the canyon's vivid hues, create from old volcanoes.

Toroweap, a Paiute term meaning "dry or barren valley," refers to many local features, including the geologic formation and fault, the valley and the overlook. Today, Toroweap is managed for preservation of the abundant natural and cultural resources, as well as the pleasure for those who visit this secluded part of the Grand Canyon.

This tour uses a 10-passenger Tour Trekker, a vehicle specifically designed for sightseeing and off-road adventures.
