This guided above and below-ground mining tour is perfect for Old West history fans. You'll visit the oldest and most famous gold mine in Southern Nevada.
Start out by walking through the old Techatticup Mill site where ore was brought out of the mine to the stamp mill, crushed into a powder and mixed in cyanide tanks where the gold and silver were then separated.
Next, it's off to the entrance of the old Savage Mine, which produced millions of ounces of gold and silver during the great gold rush of the 1800s. You'll head 500 feet deep into the side of the mountain and view the veins where early miners found silver and gold.
While you're on the tour, keep an eye out for native bighorn sheep or other wildlife.
