If you’re looking for a quaint, off-the-Strip hotel with affordable prices, Skyline Hotel & Casino is the place for you.
There are a few things to note when it comes to this homey hotel. The rooms bring a wow-factor you wouldn’t expect, like fireplaces, huge TVs (bigger than what you’d see on the Strip) and luxe bidets. Technically, they're not necessary (unless you're European), but they're totally worth having. The standard rooms are quite large too. They don’t have fireplaces or fancy toilets, but they have large TVs for your entertainment needs.
Besides the rooms, this hotel has everything you’d expect to see in a Vegas hotel: a bar, a gym, slot machines and a restaurant. The restaurant has a private room that you can rent out for a meeting or big gathering, but the cutest thing about it is the miniature train track. It’s like one of those things you’d build as a kid, and it choo-choo’s overhead while you’re eating.
Another reason to ditch the Strip and stay here is their antique collection. Around every corner you’ll find an antique that piques your interest. If you were to examine every antique they have on display, your weekend would be over by the time you’re done. It adds a historic western feel to the hotel, so make sure to check out a few pieces while walking around.
If you forgot to get a haircut before you left, head to their on-site barbershop and get a fresh cut. The décor in the hair shop looks like something you’d see in a movie. It’s clean, crispy and has a red, white and blue scheme. Even if you don’t need a cut, take a peek inside.
Skyline Hotel & Casino isn’t in the heat of the Las Vegas action, but it offers a cozy home away from home.
