Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! A stay at the Silverton is unique, to say the least, but it’s something that fans of fishing, boating, camping and other pursuits in the great outdoors won’t want to miss. Why? Because the Silverton is attached to a huge, two-story Bass Pro Shops. Just head from the casino right into the store and stock up on everything nature lovers could want. There’s even a 40,000-gallon aquarium where fishing lessons are given.
But back to the hotel itself. The Silverton is located just west of Las Vegas Boulevard and offers complimentary shuttle service to and from both McCarran International Airport and Aria (right in the center of the Strip), so you’ll always be just minutes from the action.
The resort is decorated with a mountain lodge motif, which is a bit unexpected in the Las Vegas desert. Rooms feature one king or two queen beds, air conditioning, cable TV and Wi-Fi.
Of course, this is Las Vegas, so the Silverton boasts a 90,000-square foot casino with slots, video poker and your favorite table games, like blackjack, craps, roulette and poker. And, if you’ve worked up an appetite chasing Lady Luck (or learning to fish next door), on-site dining options include the Twin Creeks Steakhouse, Mexican fare at Mi Casa Grill Cantina and the casual Sundance Grill (you won’t want to leave without trying the gelato).
Then, after dinner, make sure to check out the Shady Grove Lounge, whose main attraction is a vintage 1950s Airstream trailer with two mini bowling alleys inside.
